"Let me write the songs of a nation, I don't care who writes its laws."
Andrew Fletcher, Scottish Philosopher (1653-1716)
Christians spend much of their efforts in the political arena while the main battleground for the culture is in the entertainment sector.
Our government's make up does not affect our culture nearly as much as our culture affects our government make up. The cultural view on homosexuality, whatever your position regarding it, was changed over a few decades through the positive portrayal of gays on TV, in movies, and in music. It is in the media, especially entertainment, where our culture is shaped.
Ultimately, the liberties we have regarding freedom of religion and the free exercise thereof will be saved or lost in the culture. Any governmental restrictions on the freedoms we enjoy will have their birth place in our culture, shaped by our media.
